The Jahanka are a small, mysterious people group of 65,000. They are the Islamic holy men primarily located in Senegal, Guinea and the Gambia. As holy men (Muslim clerics) they conduct Islamic worship rituals and provide Qur'anic teaching in the villages. Because of their desire for religious piety they often remove themselves from secularized society and live in rural villages. Those who do not function as holy men make their living on sustenance farming. The Jahanka are 99.99997% Muslim. There exists no Scriputre in the Jahanka language.

Muslims travel 14+ hours to seek the intercession and advice of Jahanka Muslim clerics. Families will send their boys off to Jahanka villages to attend the Islamic schools run by the Jahanka. Picture a Muslim traveling 14 hours to seek the advice of a Jahanka and the former Muslim cleric telling him of Jesus Christ. As outreach occurs among the Jahanka pray for a great spiritual movement among them.
