Are you willing to devote two to three years of your life to sharing the gospel with a nomadic ethnic group in a dry and dusty land? Our goal is a church planting movement, but every movement begins with single steps. Those steps could be yours as you work side by side with another single or couple to establish yourself in a Fula Macina (Fulani) community in West Africa. As you share life experiences with the people, you will team together to determine the best strategy for reaching the most people. You will not be able to do this alone, but must rely on God?s strength as you mobilize volunteers and US Baptist churches to become involved. Form your team in the States and come through the process together. Are you ready for a challenge?

Millions of people stil have not heard the story of Jesus. Would you give two-three years to help them hear the Good News? Just as Martin Luther put the Word of God in the hands of the common man, that reformation continues as oral Bible portions are put in the hands on Oral Learners. After training you will interact with mother-tongue speakers to provide high-quality audio recordings of selected Bible stories, which will enable the people to become familiar with the Bible and its teachings and hide them in their hearts in the most appropriate way for their culture. The legacy of your work will continue long after you have left, continuing to bring people to Jesus.

"We have no hope. You have to come back and tell us more about this new religion, because we've never heard it before,? the villagers told the missionary. A few weeks later he returned with a volunteer team from the States. Dozens accepted Christ. A church was planted. Four million Bambara populate Mali, and less than 1% of them are Christian. Nevertheless, it seems God will soon change that. In these villages, men and women are coming to Christ. It's happening quickly. It's happening because of volunteer teams. And it is happening faster than the Bambara team can keep up with. We don't have enough missionaries on the field to disciple the new believers and to help facilitate the U.S. volunteer teams. We need you. Will you come?

This team will live and work in an African village. You will help in all aspects of village life learning the culture and language while introducing helpful reproducible methods of meeting needs (as determined in partnership with the village). Sharing your life and faith with the villagers in an open manner is a must. Your team will share the Bible stories (?God?s Story?) in ways that are also reproducible. Intercesssory pray for specific needs of the village is vital. Like sowing good seed in good soil produces an abundant crop, so also, relations built by sowing the gospel seed across cultural lines will better the physical lives of the villagers and will bring honor to God by leading them to life in Jesus Christ.

The Ghana Baptist Convention is a strong convention with over 800 churches and 25 BSU groups. Since many men now in leadership positions in the Convention met the Lord during their university years, they know the value of campus outreach ministries. They also realize the impact lay Baptist leadership can have throughout the country. Therefore, the goal of the Convention is to have well-trained students, capable and equipped to do evangelism/witnessing, church-planting and leadership in her churches. This would mean developing and implementing training done in a way which could be carried on by students after you leave. It would also involve you walking/mentoring/working with your students as they apply what they?ve learned.

Will you accept the call to share God's Word with a unique unreached people group in West Africa? The Bozo peoples of Mali, who follow Islam as well as African Traditional Religion, have less than 15 known Christians. They have not followed Christ because they have never heard of Him. They live in small, isolated villages along the river systems of Mali. Many of these villages are accessible only by canoe. You would be the first to share God's love and His Word with many of them. You will be trained and mentored by established missionaries. Your training will include language acquisition, cultural adaptation, evangelism and church planting techniques.
