Prayer Guide for the Jahanka People

Day 1
The Jahanka people carry the knowledge of Islam’s holy book, the Quran, in their minds. They are known as teachers of the way of Muhammad. People travel for hundreds of miles and from many countries to seek the wisdom of the Jahanka. Pray one day soon the Jahanka will share with these travelers the truth of Jesus Christ.

Day 2
Chief Jaba* helps Jeremy, an International Mission Board missionary, translate Bible stories. He has heard the truth of God’s Jahanka BoyWord, but doesn’t yet believe. Pray that the Word of God will pierce the chief’s heart and that he will lead his people to follow Jesus’ path.

Day 3
Cale*, a Jahanka man, is working with Jeremy to record Bible stories. These recordings allow the Jahanka people to hear more stories either on cassette or through the radio. Pray that as Cale hears the Word he will believe and follow the truth.

Day 4
The Jahanka women eagerly await the next Bible story, each time trying to push missionary Kimberly to share more of what’s coming next. Thank the Lord for the women in the villages Kay*, Sela* and Ja* and their willingness to learn about Jesus.

Day 5
They have heard the Gospel. They know the name of Jesus. Pray for the villagers in Bates* and Meka* to believe in Jesus.

Day 6
The Jahanka people believe their god, Allah, speaks to them in dreams and visions. Ask the one and only God -- the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob -- to give the Jahanka people dreams of Jesus and visions that He is the only path to be with God in heaven.

Day 7
Lives are changed by the Gospel. Many Jahanka will be forced out of their homes and everything they know if they decide to follow Jesus. Pray they will have courage and the strength to know that the Lord provides.
